Record Station helps you save albums, set listening reminders, and log your listening experiences. This policy explains how Gorkem Baris Yesiltas, the developer of Record Station, handles information when you use the mobile app and recordstation.app.
Information we handle
- Account information. Your email address, account identifier, and authentication information are processed to create your account and sign you in using an email verification code.
- Your music library. We store the albums you save, their listening status, listening dates, tags, and the listening logs you create, linked to your account.
- Searches and shared links. Album searches and music links or text you choose to share with the app are processed to find and save music.
- Information on your device. The app stores your sign-in session and a cached copy of library data locally. Reminder times and notification settings are stored on your device so it can schedule local notifications.
- Technical information. Our hosting and authentication providers may process IP addresses, request details, device or browser information, and diagnostic logs when delivering and protecting the service.
- Support messages. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, save and retrieve your library, find music, display listening history, schedule reminders, respond to requests, and maintain the reliability and security of the service. Record Station does not display advertising or sell your personal information.
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process account and library data to provide the service you request, and technical and support information for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and supporting the service. Optional device permissions, such as notifications, are controlled through your device settings.
Service providers and external services
Record Station uses the following services to operate:
- Supabase provides account authentication and database storage for your account and library.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and backend, processes network requests, and provides caching and operational logs.
- Spotify provides music search results, album information, and artwork. Searches and album identifiers are sent to Spotify to retrieve this information; loading artwork can also send network information to the artwork provider.
These providers process information needed for their services and may process it in countries other than your own. External music services you open from the app handle your activity under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the security of the service or the rights of its users.
Security and local storage
The service uses HTTPS for network connections and authentication to restrict access to account data. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Your device keeps session and cached app data for normal operation and offline access; protect access to your device. You can disable notifications through your operating system settings.
How long information is kept
Account and library information is retained while your account remains in use. Removing an album or listening log in the app hides it from your library but does not immediately erase the stored record. Uninstalling the app does not delete your online account or library.
To request permanent deletion, follow the instructions below. Technical logs, backups, and support correspondence can have separate retention periods determined by the provider or the purpose for which they are kept. Contact us for information about retention that applies to your data.
Request account or data deletion
To request deletion of your Record Station account and associated library and listening logs, email gorkemyesiltas@hotmail.com from the email address used for your account, with the subject “Record Station account deletion”. You can make this request without installing or opening the app.
If you want only specific data deleted, describe it in your message. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before processing your request. Do not send your password or sign-in codes. We will explain any information that must be retained and the reason when responding to your request.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, and complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights or ask about how they apply.
